Texas Roadhouse Rolls Recipe

Shape the Rolls: Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape into about 12 balls and set aside on greased cookie sheet or greased baking dish.

Equipment

  • 1 Pan
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons 
  • 1 Stand mixer (optional)

Ingredients

  • cup All-purpose flour (and more for dusting)
  • tsp Teaspoons active dry yeast (1 envelope)
  • ¼ cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Tsp Teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Warm milk (110°F/45°C)
  • ¼ tsp Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large Large egg 
  • 2 Tbsp Melted butter, for brushing 

Instructions

  • Soften the Yeast: In a small bowl, mix the warm milk, sugar and yeast. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until frothy and foamy. 
  • To Make the Dough: Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl. Mix it into the yeast mixture along with the melted butter and egg. Mix using a spoon until a soft dough forms. 
  • Knead: Dump the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it for 8-10 minutes or until it becomes smooth and elastic. Or beat with a stand mixer and dough hook. 
  • First Rise: Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, or just oil the bowl it’s already in, cover the bowl with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm place for 1 to 1 1 1/2 hours, or until doubled in bulk. 
  • Shape the Rolls: Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each into a ball and place on greased baking sheet or baking pan. 
  • 2nd rise: Re-cover rolls and let rise again 30-45 mins, until puffy. 
  • Bake: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. How to Make cloverleaf rolls 15 minutes, or until golden brown. 
  • To finish: Brush with melted butter as soon as you take them out of the oven.
